Following the release of IE9 last week Firefox 4.0 has been released.
The previous version of Firefox (3.6) was released in January 2010 and over the last year had slipped from its leading position behind Chrome, Opera and the recent IE9.
Firefox has been a key tool for Web Development and there are a number of developments that make a difference to the Techies. For the average user the update means:
- A better user experience.
Tabs for applications and the ability to group tabs. - Built in synchronisation of bookmarks, open tabs, history, preferences and passwords.
- Improved privacy controls and security.
- Protection against crashing
It's also a truly international browser as it is available in more than 70 languages. It's also an option for most people as it can be installed on most operating systems. Including Windows XP.
