One of the neat features with Facebook is getting a vanity URL for your Facebook page. This is available for people and businesses with more than 25 friends or likes.
For MadeSimple our dedicated URL is http://www.facebook.com/MadeSimple
This makes it a lot easier to market your Facebook page and it also means that you are the owner of that Facebook URL, no one else can use it.
Facebook also refers to this as your username.
To create your own vanity URL login to your Facebook account.
Once logged in go to http://www.facebook.com/username/
If you have multiple pages you will see a drop down list. Select the relevant page.
Once selected type in your preferred name i.e. MadeSimple. N.B. your user name can only contain A-Z, a-z, 0-9 and full stops (.)
Check Availability.
Once you have found a username that is available confirm. You cannot change this once it is set, so make sure you get it right!
Once it is confirmed you are good to start marketing with your dedicated URL!
