Many clients ask me whether they should have a blog, article or news on their website and which one is appropriate for them. Effectively they are the same thing, it is just the tone and manner of the content that determines what it is called.
Article
Articles are more informative and educational in nature. On the whole they are written with the business or organisation as the authoritative figure. Articles work really well when you have additional content that relates to your main website content. It is a great way for clients and potential clients to learn more about your product or service.

News
News is perfect for announcement or news relating to your business, product or service, or industry. This could be the announcement of a new product or service, staff member or other related item.

Blog
A blog is the least formal of the three and is a vehicle for an individual or brand personality to communicate with an audience. With a blog people connect with the person or the brand, their opinions and their thinking. Successful bloggers have a different way of looking at things and can inform and give a perspective that people can’t find anywhere else. Blogs can also inform and educate as well as announce news.
