There are 2 main ways to have video on your website
- Embedding from YouTube or Facebook
- Hosting on your own website
Embedding from YouTube or Facebook
Both YouTube and Facebook allow you to upload HD video. Once uploaded the videos can be easily embedded into your website. For smaller videos this is an excellent way to promote your video online as well as within your website.
N.B. Both YouTube and Facebook check the copyright on music in a video and will block it if they deem copyrighted music to have been included.
YouTube
The limits for uploading video onto YouTube is for the video to be under 2 GB in size and 15 minutes in duration.
YouTube is great for for increasing brand awareness through your video
being found in search results. N.B. Videos must have good branding and
contact details included in them to drive traffic back to your website.
The limits for uploading video onto Facebook is for the video to be under 1,024 MB in size and 20 minutes in duration.
Facebook video gives you then avenue to promote your video through Social Media and gives you the opportunity to go viral with the promotion.
Hosting on your own website
Hosting video on your own website allows you to keep control of how your video is viewed. Your own video player gives you an increased level of professionalism.
There are various levels of video player depending on your needs.
Generic Player
A generic video player contains no branding and provides a simple solution to playing video on your website.
The cost for this is $100 plus GST
Branded Player
A branded video player allows you to reinforce your brand whilst people watch video on your website.
There are 2 options for branding your player:
- Logo in the control bar.
- Watermark logo on the “screen” - usually top or bottom right.
The cost for this is $250 plus GST
Custom Player
A fully custom designed video player can be designed and built for you to include on your website. Things that can be customised are colours, control layout, logos, framing and more.
The cost for this is dependent on the scope of the work.
Installation
The video player can either be installed by Jaijaz directly onto your website or the components can be provided to your web developer for uploading.
